It's winter in Juan-les-Pins

It's January 2008. It's Sunday afternoon.

Yesterday's winter storm, with heavy wind and heavy waves, enabled the sea to recover some of the sand the tractors piled up during autumn, in order to protect the beach restaurants from damage.

Today the sea is calm. The sun is back. And so are the people.

People stroll along the beach. Have lunch in one of the beach restaurants still open. Children play in the sand. Adults play their petanque - or enjoy the sun in bathing suits. Or go fishing.

The fishing boats are in harbour. Tomorrow the hard work will start again.

It's Sunday afternoon in January.

This is Juan-les-Pins in winter. A Juan-les-Pins few tourists have seen - but a Juan-les-Pins snowbirds enjoy.
